SUPPORTING NEXT GEN MINISTRIES:

LifeLine Student Ministry

Courtney Bowering
at Toronto Metropolitan University
Courtney is a Mission Canada campus worker at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), formerly known as Ryerson University. It is home to over 48,000 students of which many know of Jesus, but they do not know Him as their Saviour and Lord.

During and after her internship with LifeLine , Courtney developed a deep love for the students at TMU and the mission of LifeLine. After much prayer, she felt led to stay, recognizing the harvest is plentiful. Her dream is to see all 48,000 students fall passionately in love with Jesus.
LifeLine is a vibrant faith community on campus. It is a safe space where students can explore faith, ask tough questions, and voice doubts. We meet students right where they are, introducing them to the true, unconditional love of Jesus. For those already walking with Him, we offer discipleship with the hope of seeing them become bold witnesses for Jesus among their family, friends, and fellow students.

At LifeLine we are also committed to serving students on campus, and we do this primarily through Red Frogs TMU. Red Frogs is dedicated to supporting, serving, and safeguarding students in practical ways. This includes hydration stations at TMU campus events where alcohol is served, pancake breakfasts, and other creative initiatives. We serve with no strings attached, something that often prompts students to ask, “Why are you doing this?” That simple question opens the door for genuine relationships and meaningful conversations between students and LifeLine leaders and volunteers.

LifeLine is a community of students on a journey to find, follow, and serve Jesus Christ. As God transforms students' lives, the impact extends far beyond the campus, to our city, our nation, and the world.
Home Farm Ministries

Aimee Heyer
Aimee Heyer, together with her husband Marvin McMurray, runs Home Farm Ministries under the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada’s Mission Canada department. Located on a picturesque farm property just minutes outside of Peterborough, ON. Home Farm offers a place of belonging for kids, youth, and families.
The ministry has two focuses:
-
Connecting with those who otherwise wouldn’t connect with a local church.
-
Supporting mental and emotional health in youth and children.
Aimee is an ordained minister, certified riding instructor, and registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and is thrilled to be combining many passions and using them for Kingdom work.
Home Farm pursues its ministry goals by offering riding lessons, equine assisted learning sessions, day camps, one-on-one mentoring, Bible studies, and volunteer opportunities.
Running a farm for ministry has many challenges, but what keeps Marv and Aimee going each day is the privilege of being part of what God is doing in the Peterborough area. It is so special to watch a teen with anxiety make friends and grow in self-confidence, to help a special needs child achieve new milestones, or to sit in a crowded Bible study listening to the laughter and chatter as young people discuss how being a Jesus-follower practically affects their lives.
Like we always say here, “No matter what else someone may learn, make sure that no one leaves here without knowing that they are loved by Jesus!”
Algonquin College Outreach

Woodvale Young Adults
Young Adults at Woodvale have been given an incredible open door of opportunities to minister to students at Algonquin with the Gospel! This year their involvement with Algonquin has been expressed in 3 ways:
Partnership with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship: Collaborating with InterVarsity by raising and developing volunteers to serve within this ministry, which meets 3 times per week on campus! We have sent various volunteers, provided food, and other resources to support Intervarsity through the Alpha programs, Outreach initiatives, and weekly operations of this incredible ministry.
Partnership with the Campus Chaplain: Once a month, a room on campus is booked to serve in a program called, “Lunch and Learn”, where students are provided with a meal, and bible study led by Woodvale Young Adults. An amazing opportunity to network Christians and equip them for ministry on campus!
Partnership with Campus Ministries for Exam Outreach. Pastor Matt Schmid has been serving as the Campus Ministries Pause Break Coordinator for 3 years now, organizing outreach to students on campus during exam weeks. Students are served free breakfast items, given free bibles, church invitations, and many are even open to receiving prayer right there on the spot! Matt often works with at least 8 local churches throughout exam week to minister to the students during exam week! Each day, at least 600 students are served, often more than that!
